Sound is here!

And so is Alpha 1.0!

Yes! After an even longer time, the new version is finally out! If there was one thing this game needed, it was the sound. At last, it is here, and the game can now get to full Alpha. However, sound is not the only new thing! Here are the most important changes:

Sound, obviously!

Like I said many times already, now the game has sound. Powered by FMOD, recorded straight from a real Dacia or taken from sound packs and freesound.org. Yeah, I'm not a master of audio, as you can tell.  However, it is here! The engine, the honk, the sirens... you name it, we have it!

Radio!

Aside from sound effects, there is also music! And what better way to add music to a car game than using a radio? By pressing F4 you can bring out the radio, turn it on and select a radio station of your preference! Currently there are 2 radio stations, one with classical music, and one with something more modern.

Better feeling of speed

Even though you drive a Dacia, which has a lot of pros, speed sadly isn't one of them. However, you can still feel it! Thanks to dynamic camera FOV and camera shake at high speeds, even though you're not going so fast, it feels like you are! 

More engines and slightly improved customization...

If you want even more speed, you can now head to the customization screen, and replace your 1.2L 75HP engine with a 1.6L 120HP engine! It is (for obvious reasons) much faster! Additionally, you can now change your gearbox in customization too. No need to go back to menu and then rejoin the game! 

...customization, which now saves!

Exactly! This is another QoL change - now you don't have to redo your customization each time you join the game! Now once you do it, it gets saved, and the next time you start the game, the car on the start screen will be your car!

Something for hosts too!

Now you can select to customize players' cars for Carball! You can customize them and change their engines, to make sure all players are equal.

Of course, I wouldn't be able to make this game alone. Even though I am the main developer, without the help of other people who all did their small part, this game would not be the way it is. Contributors have been listed on the game's page.

What about the next update?

Next large update will again be content-oriented. I plan to either expand the current map, or add something new. When it should be expected however is unknown, but I believe 2025 might show us something!
